90 | Dealing With Criticism - Compassion, Christ and the Fundamental Attribution Error

Dealing with criticism is a common human experience, but no matter when, where, or how, it can be challenging and can impact our emotions and self-esteem.

Many times Christian women either get defensive, say nothing, agree, or try to set boundaries in response. All reactions are important based on the context, but they might not always work.

And to make things worse, in the aftermath, the critical comments may still reverberate in our consciousness, keeping us up at night and disturbing our peace.

"Was it me? Was this person right? Am I really bad? I don't think so, but what if...?"

Having thoughts like this is no fun, and can lead into doubting ourselves, a sense of the impostor syndrome and feeling on the edge.

Is there another approach?

Yes.

We can shift our perspective and tap into higher and larger thoughts, which allow us to see deeper human dynamics. God said, "my thoughts are higher than your thoughts."

Christ's way of being, our faith, along with Science and Psychology can give us much larger perspectives, which in turn can help us tap into our God-given compassion for all human beings and that 'peace that surpasses all understanding.'

Listen to this episode to unpack this and find a different approach using Christ as our model and an interesting Social Psychology widespread phenomenon.
