80 | Beliefs vs. Reality and the 7 Levels of Freedom
As Christian givers, especially when exhausted after a full day of giving, we can feel at a loss how to deal with difficult or complicated situations or encounters. Maybe your kids are not believers in spite of your best efforts and you don't know what to say to them anymore. Maybe you tried your best at work, but nothing seemed to function today as you've encountered crisis after crisis. Or maybe you tried to help someone, but they seem to go back to the same old unhelpful patterns in spite of your best efforts.
It is easy then to experience either negative emotions or swirling thoughts, which can leave us with some negative beliefs and conclusions such as "I must have done something wrong," "I am not good enough," "I am a failure," "nothing works," etc.
Although things go well most of the time, experiences like these can leave us with a sense of frustration and powerlessness, but the story does not end here.
Christ said "and the truth shall set you free." But which truth? Which belief? Are they equal? Is there a difference and if so, "how can I discern"? "How do I really know?"
