Interview with Dr. Roxanne Louh, Psy.D., PA

For many givers, it may seem that feeling out of balance is an unavoidable part of the giving journey. This may be partly true nowadays as busyness, success and productivity are part of our cultural-dominating beliefs. But it does not have to be so.

Continuously giving with no regard to taking care of our own needs, can be unfruitful and can lead to imbalance.

Our body, heart (emotions) and mind (thoughts) may actually carry burdens and unhelpful beliefs from unmet needs in childhood, which can eventually lead to burnout or even medical conditions.

These burdens and old beliefs (mindsets) might have helped us in the past, but now might keep us in unhelpful cycles.

For most givers, it's not uncommon to experience life's highs and lows, whether through their own personal experiences or through the people they serve. However, sometimes the emotions and situations may become overwhelming and can be challenging to navigate.

And these experiences, although painful at times, paradoxically can bring forth more clarity and energy toward a life of giving and passionate ministry.

This is the case for many professionals, including our special guest Dr. Roxanne Louh, a dedicated Psychologist, a devout Christian and wife of a priest.

In this episode of Renewal Conversations, Dr. Roxanne shares with us how she and her family were able to grow and regenerate through one of the hardest seasons in their lives, along with many nuggets and wisdom she learned along the way.

Drawing on her years of experience as a psychologist, she shares tips on how tapping into the power of regenerating body, mind, heart and soul can help us find balance and peace amidst life's many twists and turns.
