How to Avoid Distractions During Evening Prayer?

after workday - separate & release care for the soul - true self renewal-on-the-go
Can Psychology Help Your Prayer Life?

by Dr. Ioana Popa

Can't fully focus when Praying at night? Just when you're about to communicate with God, your mind gets distracted with thoughts or emotions? You are not alone.

At the end of the day, we might have lots of thoughts or emotions about the day and it might be tricky sometimes to know what to do with them as we just want to prepare to pray and connect deeply with God.

Most of us do this mistake in the evening: instead of addressing our thoughts and emotions properly, we try to suppress, fight them or distract ourselves with news, shows or video games, but this backfires as we get ready for prayer.

We are then pulled away by what seems 'random' thoughts or emotions, we might feel we need to fight the "evil one" and we might even start doubting how strong our faith is.

From science, psychology and my decades of working with people (and from my own experience ) around dealing with thoughts and with emotional regulation, I know that our Emotional intelligence is different from our Logical mind intelligence.

Here is a 10-min video walking you through the steps to take to get ready for a meaningful prayer time.
