IFS and Christianity

As we keep growing both professionally and personally in Christ, we become better versions of ourselves and we see the transformation.

Nonetheless, life happens, and we might get triggered, respond in ways that we are not proud of, and then start wondering "What did I do wrong?", "Why can't I fix this?" or "Why can't I do this?" and we feel we go backwards or in circles instead of forward.

In reality, we are never going back (although it feels that way), as growth is more of a spiral movement!

Why does this happen? Every system, from the smallest molecule to our bodies, our inner psychological & spiritual world, communities, all the way to the stars, exists in states of equilibrium (Homeostasis).

As we reach toward our highest potential, subconscious forces can pull us back toward the old ways of being, to the state of prior equilibrium - so it's natural to feel this way.

These reactions are driven by old conditionings, and parts of us that might have been hurt in the past.

In IFS (Internal Family Systems), these younger versions of ourselves are called "EXILES".

But here is the good news: God is a God of love, compassion and healing, and can bring light to the inner folds of our being!

Internal Family Systems (IFS) Part 5: EXILES
🔅When we are triggered, it is possible that our younger versions of ourselves, the Exiles, might need support from you and God.
🔅 Instead of trying to "fix" the parts, we can nurture and connect with it from our True Self and the unfailing love of God.
🔅 Getting support from someone you trust is important, and when in doubt, consult with your medical provider, an IFS therapist or practitioner.

Inside this episode I share some quick tips about:

🔅 Journaling + Contemplative Practices and how they can nurture the Exile Parts so we can eventually shift away from negative patterned thinking.
