Self Care

It’s common for us to take from what we see in the world around us and use this as a barometer of our life's expectations and practices. But how many times do we pause and think, what did Jesus do? And what can we learn from Christ's life and interactions?

This week, I was delighted to interview Presvytera Kerry Pappas, who has studied Christ’s compassion and the ways he took care of himself in his humanity.

Kerry is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a graduate from Holy Cross School of Theology and the coordinator for seminarian and clergy couples care at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

She is a trainer and facilitator for Prepare and Enrich, which is a premarital and marriage enrichment program, and enjoys leading womens and couples retreats.

In this Renewal Conversation you will learn about:
🔅 The 2 pivotal moments in Presv. Kerry's life that grounded her in faith.
🔅 Insights into Jesus' humanity.
🔅 Clarifying the important distinction between Empathy and Compassion - so you can listen to others's suffering without being drained.
🔅 Kerry's amazing new book, offering weekly insights to nurture a marriage.

The Bible Verse that inspires her is this: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 50:10 (NKJV)
