Can we prevent burnout

You work all day, support your family, respond to emails, push projects over the finish line, care for your home, attend to neighbors, pray and try to have a moment of respite when you can. You probably have a lot of balls in the air.

When it is time to relax, it is common for us to want to make sure we are caught up with our social media platforms, friends, news, watching a movie or playing games, even overindulging in some food. If this is you, know that you are not alone.

Unfortunately, it is easy to get caught up in endless scrolling and, 1 hour (or 3 hours) later, you're exhausted, leading to feelings of dissatisfaction about wasting time on social media. The inner dialogue might go something like this:
- I did not finish my entire to-do list.
- I did not even pray properly.
- How come I spend so much time on social media?
- I promise myself tomorrow is going to be better.

Questions and comments like these are more common than one thinks, and let’s agree right now that there is NO SHAME about it. The root cause is not the actual addiction: it can be a by-product, an unavoidable phenomenon, which I go over in this short episode.

The good news is that there is a way to cope with it, by separating properly from the day - from the body, mind, and heart - as part of your Renewal Blueprint.
