Trauma and Faith: Deciding To Trust God Fully, With Rebecca Medina Stewart

by Dr. Ioana Popa
Although trauma is common, it can block many Christian women from seeking help, while living successful professional lives. It is not uncommon to then go into a 'shell' and not share the experience. Some may feel at fault, filled with shame or guilt, and try to forget the experience or bear it silently.
To overcome an extreme traumatic experience that impacted her life with depression for almost 2 decades, Rebecca Medina Stewart not only sought professional help, but decided at some point to give her life completely to Christ and share her experience in safe ways.
Rebecca is a former journalist, Emmy Award nominee and author. She is actively involved with her husband, Brian, in small group and prayer ministries at their local church.
In this Renewal Conversation, you will hear nuggets about:
✨ Rebecca's powerful story of overcoming trauma with faith, psychology and medicine.
✨ The importance of making a conscious DECISION to follow Christ which changed her life's trajectory.
✨ Examples of authenticity in the relationship with God, from both of us.
✨ Not letting guilt and shame dictate our life’s decisions.
Rebecca's Bible verse encapsulating her life journey is: "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." Psalm 118:17 KJV
